Welcome to Mining for Diamonds!

My name is Kimberly and I am a "multi-faceted diamond-in-the-rough.” On a daily basis, I am on a quest to unearth from the mines of this existence the treasures of faith, life and love.

In this blog, I will share some of my spiritual journey through the various “facets” of my life. They include: marriage in the midst of mental illness, motherhood, music, and ministry.  My life has been, and continues to be, quite an adventure! I have been married since September 1999 to a wonderful man with a not-so-wonderful illness called Bipolar Disorder, who I met when we traveled the world as missionaries. Together, we have a lovely teenage daughter who brings sunshine into our lives. I am a teacher, and a professional violinist. (I've been playing violin for over 35 years!) I could not navigate through these facets of my life without putting my faith in Jesus Christ first in every area. Hopefully this blog will give you a glimpse of what that looks like for me and my family. I’m not a preacher, but I pray that my life reflects the Light of Christ…kind of like a diamond…and that those who read my journey will desire to know not so much more of me, but more of Him. Thank you for accompanying me on my journey. My prayer is that you find your own buried treasures where you least expect!
